“Useless negotiations”... Qassem: Israel seeks, through negotiation, to disarm the resistance

Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem said, in a televised message today, Monday, that Israel has not adhered to any of the terms of the ceasefire agreement during the past months, accusing it of continuing “aggression against Lebanon with American support.”
Qassem added that “diplomacy has not achieved any progress,” noting that Israel “continues to implement broad military plans targeting Lebanon.”
Qassem considered that Israel’s goals were to “weaken the strength of Lebanon and the resistance in preparation for a broader Israeli project,” stressing his rejection of Lebanon being “a tool for implementing external pressures.”
Sheikh Naim stressed that the Lebanese army “will not be asked to fight its people,” calling on the state not to renounce the role of the resistance, and not to respond to what he described as American and Israeli dictates.
Qassem stressed that “the current battle is not related to the security of northern Israel only, but rather it is a confrontation aimed at targeting Lebanon,” he said, adding that “the battlefield is the one that will decide” and that the option of confrontation continues.
The Secretary-General of Hezbollah rejected any negotiations with Israel, considering them “useless and requiring Lebanese consensus,” pointing out that “Israel seeks, through negotiation, to disarm the resistance.”
He concluded by emphasizing that “the path to achieving sovereignty is implementing the ceasefire agreement and stopping the attacks,” stressing “continuation of confrontation and cooperation with the Lebanese state,” and affirming that “whoever chooses to surrender is free to do so.”
